Our founder and president, Dale Del Bello opened the first ARIGATO in 1971 in Buffalo, New York. He later opened his second location in Rochester 1973, and his third location in Syracuse New York in 1975. After many cold winters, he decided to move to sunny Florida and opened up our St. Petersburg location in 1978. Soon followed both the Clearwater and Tampa locations. Currently there are three locations in Florida.

At ARIGATO, our chefs specialize in American cuisine served Japanese style. Our seafood, steak, chicken, and vegetables are sliced and prepared in our kitchens daily. All of our secret sauces are homemade prepared in our kitchens by our skillful chefs. Arigato takes pride in only serving the freshest meats and vegetables available.

Unlike any other restaurant, the cooking of the food takes place in the dining room. Guests watch their Japanese chefs prepare steak, lobster, shrimp, chicken, and scallops right before there very eyes. Every night our skillful chefs entertain 8 to 10 guests who sit around a hibachi table. Each chef is part magician, part craftsman, and part entertainer. They enjoy showing off their lightning-quick knife skills and flip shrimp tails into their hats. The interaction between our guests and chefs is what makes ARIGATO so different and special.

Each dinner at ARIGATO begins with Shoyo soup, fresh green salad with secret Arigato oriental dressing, Arigato fried rice, and hibachi vegetables. Enjoy our delicious fried tempura, sample our extensive selection of hand made sushi, or you can order a specialty drink that will arrive to your table in a collector’s ceramic figurine. We offer a kids menu for guests 10 and under. And for guests who are celebrating a special occasion, we offer a framed picture and a celebration cake to share with your guests.
